A Day In The Life During Seeding
During seeding which is arguably the most busy time of the year on our farm everyone has a certain expectation and job. For me, I was the operator, my day would start bright and early at 4:30 when I wake up. I make a quick lunch and get dressed and head out for the day. At this time I am the only one awake so I have responsibilities before I even head out to the field. Why I Am Proud To Be From A Family Farm
I am proud to be from a family farm because it has shaped who I am and how I see the world. Growing up on a farm taught me early that nothing comes easy and that hard work is not optional, it’s a way of life. From long days during seeding and harvest to early mornings and late nights, I learned that success comes from showing up even when you’re tired. Being raised on a family farm has also taught me responsibility. Equipment needs maintenance, and crops depend on timing and attention....

Working Within The Family
For me, working within the family brings many ups and a few downs and many laughs. It can be lots of fun on our farm some days and then some days it can be a high stress area. Working within the family is nice because we all get along (most of the time). We all understand the type of way we farm, what we prioritize in and what we need to work on as a farm in general. Another reason it is nice with my family is because I get to do it with my family and be with them and spend time with them....
